I attended the AAC&U ePortfolio Webinar today to learn about the latest findings in ePortfolio research. There were a lot of valuable take-aways, especially with regard to the role of peers, how eportfolios can be used to construct a professional identity, how eportfolios can make learning more meaningful by connecting to real world applications, and how student reflections can be structured for more effective learning. I was intrigued that by making learning more authentic and meaningful, student motivation could be positively impacted. This was the primary focus of the third presentation by Peecksen. All of the presentations included compelling practices which I plan to experiment with as we plan for the upcoming academic year. You can read all of their papers in the current issue of International Journal of ePortfolio (Vol. 9, No 1, 2019).
